Turning the Corner

There’s this spot on my morning walk when I take a sharp right, and turn the corner into what feels like another world. I go from mundane sidewalk, to suddenly finding myself on this gorgeous spacious riverside pathway. Sun beaming directly in my face. I start to sing out loud, Sound of Music style, then proceed to rip off layers of clothing to get that sunshine directly on my skin (yes, even in the winter). The hills are alive with hope and possibility.

Here we are nearing the end of February. Who here made grand new years resolutions to take on this or that? Turned the corner into 2025, and felt all kinds of inspiration, and determination. Juicy and ready to rip your clothes off, beat your fists against your chest and get it done! Then late February rolls along and this all feels like some distant and foreign dream. What if that corner is still there for you? What if your body and mind could track back and remember what it was like to turn that corner? What did you see, what did you want, what did you tell yourself? And how did turning that corner make you feel?

Let’s retrace your steps, cause that corner never went away. It’s the corner you so dearly and carefully created, just for yourself. To safely and comfortably show up every day and do your precious work. All you gotta do, when you get there, is remember to turn to the right (or left), step in, and let the corner do it’s magic.
